The veteran actress shared the screen with a much younger actor, and a picture of them kissing went viral last year. The actress talked about the response her children had.
Gwyneth Paltrow reveals son’s reaction to her kiss scene
Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays a fading actress and socialite in Marty Supreme, shared a kissing scene with the much younger Timothee Chalamet. Paltrow starring opposite Chalamet, widely considered the finest actor of this generation, initially excited her children and stepchildren, but seeing the kissing scene was not comfortable, especially for Moses Martin, her son, whom she shares with Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
Paltrow opened up about how her kids reacted to her role. She said that they were initially thrilled that she was working with Chalamet. But the kissing scene was not so exciting for all of them.
“The Timothee Chalamet thing was very interesting to my kids. He’s the face of a generation. My son thinks he’s cool, and my daughter was swooning in the kitchen when she saw Call Me By Your Name, (via DailyMail)” she said, “And my stepkids too, they were thrilled. I think they were less thrilled about the paparazzi pictures of us kissing in the park. I think that was slightly embarrassing to them – my son, probably more so.”
She also spoke about this to The Hollywood Reporter, where she said, “And my son was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t want to see this.’ He was kind of mortified.”
Marty Supreme is scheduled to be released in the United States by A24 on December 25, 2025. The film additionally stars Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher in supporting roles.
