Marvel’s upcoming X-Men movie may feature a different team dynamic than fans expect. According to a new rumor, Storm could play a significant role in the film without being part of the original lineup.
Scooper James Mack shared details about the reported team on X. His posts discussed a mysterious character, the lineup, and Rogue. He also suggested Storm and Kitty Pryde could become important later.
In a series of posts, Mack mentioned a new character named Miranda Manuel while admitting details remain unknown. “There’s a character in the X-MEN script named Miranda Manuel. I don’t know anything about her. I only heard about this earlier today,” he wrote.
What does the latest rumor say about the MCU’s X-Men team?
The rumor suggests that the film could feature several mutants without including all of them in the main team. James Mack shared, “And yes, guys, many mutants will appear in the X-MEN movie, but that’s because of the Xavier School. The initial team will consist of the original X-Men, with Rogue as an additional member.”
In the comics, Xavier founded his school to educate young mutants and help them control their abilities. The original five X-Men were Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman, and Angel.
Mack also described Storm’s involvement. He said, “Storm will have a prominent role in the movie, but she won’t be part of the team initially. Rogue will cause some problems and eventually leave the team. Later, Storm and Kitty Pryde will help the team.”
If accurate, this would give Storm a different introduction to the MCU’s mutant team. Kitty Pryde, also known as Shadowcat, is another established X-Men character who can phase through solid objects.
Marvel has confirmed Maya Boyd as Storm and Inde Navarrette as Rogue. The studio also announced Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, and Christopher Abbott as Professor X. Jake Schreier will direct the film, which is scheduled to hit the theaters on May 5, 2028.
