James Wan and Jason Blum have renamed their horror production company. This comes two years after their studios merged, with both original labels set to continue.
The company will now operate as Blumhouse Atomic, replacing Blumhouse Atomic Monster. The people behind major horror franchises like The Conjuring, Insidious, and Saw are now working together.
Jason Blum addressed the rebranding and what the partnership has achieved since the merger. In a press release statement shared by THR, he said, “When we merged our companies, we believed the whole would be greater than the sum of its parts, and that is exactly what has happened. We have the output of a studio with the creative freedom and financial discipline of an independent company, and more opportunities than ever to take these stories beyond the theater and into television, games and live experiences.”

How Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will operate under the new company structure
Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will remain separate production labels under the larger company. Their respective creative teams will continue developing and producing movies and television shows. This means the new corporate name will not replace either label or combine their individual projects.
Wan also explained how the company plans to support filmmakers building careers in horror. He said, “The future of horror comes from new voices, and Blumhouse Atomic gives us more ways to find them and support them for the long haul. I got my start with a small film and people willing to take a chance on it, so creating those opportunities for others is personal to me.”
The merger has also delivered strong box office results. Since the two companies joined in 2024, their films have earned more than $2.5 billion worldwide against production budgets of less than $330 million. Recent releases include Obsession, The Conjuring: Last Rites, and Backrooms.
Blumhouse Atomic is also preparing several projects for its 2027 slate. The announced titles include River, The Revenge of La Llorona, The Exorcist: Martyrs, Anything But Ghosts, Paranormal Activity, Molepeople, Blair Witch, Sleepover, and Seasons. The company is also developing new installments of Saw, Paranormal Activity, and Blair Witch.
