Newly revealed The Social Reckoning posters will remind fans of Jesse Eisenberg‘s iconic first installment. The promotional posters take an interesting inspiration from the 2010 film The Social Network.
What do the new The Social Reckoning posters look like?
Looking at the latest The Social Reckoning posters, they sort of pay a homage to The Social Network, especially the one featuring Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg. Back in the 2010 classic biopic, one line became the poster highlight for the David Fincher movie. It read, “You Don’t Get To 500 Million Friends Without Making a Few Enemies”.
Now, the standalone sequel’s posters come with a similar line, but with a twist. It reads, “We’re Way Past Making Friends”. The title clearly alludes to the dark and mysterious secrets surrounding Facebook that came to light in 2021 through former engineer Frances Haugen, played by Mikey Madison in The Social Reckoning.
The most intriguing poster is of Jeremy Strong, who plays Mark Zuckerberg this time. In the first film, the role was portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg and was admired by critics and audiences alike. Strong will have huge shoes to fill with his portrayal of the Facebook co-founder.
The poster reveal comes just days after Eisenberg’s media interaction, where he revealed the reason for not returning as Zuckerberg in The Social Reckoning. While the actor was initially involved with the script for the Aaron Sorkin movie, he eventually opted to move away. “I just told him I’m moving in different directions in my life,” he said. “I don’t want to be associated with that character.”

The official synopsis for the film reads, “A companion piece to the hit film The Social Network, Sorkin’s original screenplay is based on the events that gave rise to the Wall Street Journal’s shocking exposé The Facebook Files. The film is inspired by the true story of how Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz, a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.”
Besides Madison and Strong, The Social Reckoning also features Jeremy Allen White, Bill Burr, Wunmi Mosaku, Billy Magnussen, and Betty Gilpin, among others.
The Social Reckoning releases in theaters on October 9, 2026.
