Man’s Passport Was Rejected After The Computer Thought His Eyes Were Closed

Well then, that’s awkward.

While it’s probably not as bad as the British man who had a passport photo that made him look like Hitler, the guy below can’t say that he has a passport photo as fabulous as the great Prince once did. And that’s mainly because his photo was rejected because the computer thought he was closing his eyes. The only issue is his eyes were open.

Let’s first take a look at the photo of Richard Lee, the 22-year-old New Zealand man of Asian descent, that was rejected by the computer.

Lee’s eyes are clearly open, so this just makes this whole situation that much more awkward. But credit goes to Lee because instead of getting pissed off or offended, Lee just laughed it off. And his friend suggest he sent this photo in instead.

Yep, that might work. Lee himself even chimed in with his own suggestion, too.

“No hard feelings on my part, I’ve always had very small eyes and facial recognition technology is relatively new and unsophisticated,’ Lee said on Facebook. “It was a robot, no hard feelings. I got my passport renewed in the end.”

Well, at least Lee has a great sense of humor.
