Comic-Con 2015: Catching Up With Dave Garcia In Artists’ Alley!

If you’re coming to San Diego Comic-Con International for just the movie and TV panels, you may be overlooking one of the biggest draws: Artists’ Alley.

Artists’ Alley is the space set aside on the convention floor for comic book artists and creators to meet their fans and sell their comics and artwork on a one-on-one basis. This is part of what makes the comic book industry so unique. You can actually meet with both established pros, up-and-coming creators and some of the most interesting people you will ever come across.

At this year’s Comic-Con, the CraveOnline team spoke with writer and artist, Dave Garcia. Shortly before we caught up with him, Garcia was given an Inkpot Award for his contributions to the comic book industry during his 30 plus year career.

Garcia told us about attending his first Artists’ Alley as a professional in 1985 and he also shared the inspiration for his supernatural western comic book, Shadow of the West.

Garcia’s previous comic book credits include The Tick, a miniseries based on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, Tiny Toon Adventures, and his creator owned Chronicles of Panda Khan,
