National BBQ Month Recipe: Grilled Cream Corn
July is National Barbecue Month. That’s a great idea because who out there is even going to think about grilling in the middle of summer?
To get out of the realm of the obvious, we came up with a bizarre grilling recipe to try in July. We looked for the least likely food you’d associate with the grill. We came up with this recipe for Cream Corn. Iced Jello came in a close second, losing out only because there’s no such thing.

Grilled Cream Corn
- 6 ears corn, cleaned and marinated.
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Marinade Preparation: Grill corn in the husk for 12 minutes, brushing on the marinade as it cooks. Remove corn and discard marinade. Remove corn from cob with sharp knife.
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp olive oil Milk
Preparation: Combine cut corn with sour cream, paprika, and olive oil. Add enough milk to desired creaminess.
