Georgia Man With Last Name ‘Miller’ Steals Beer Truck, Gets Run Over By Beer Truck

That’s not really living the high life, buddy.

According to WRBL, a 56-year-old Columbus man’s attempt at stealing an 18-wheeler Coors Light delivery truck early Monday morning ended pretty much as poorly as possible when he crashed it into a fence, forgot to throw it in park and then got run over by it.

Police said Gregory Miller nabbed the beer truck when the real delivery guy left it running outside of a local Circle K. When the driver came out of the store, we imagine he must have damn near crapped himself when he noticed it was gone. But he quickly dialed 911, and police located the truck a mere moments later.

Miller then led police on a four-mile high speed chase that came to an end when he crashed the beer truck into a fence behind a Bojangles restaurant. Police said he jumped out of the truck and tried to run from the scene, but that plan was also thwarted when the 18-wheeler he forgot to throw in park ran over his right leg.

Miller was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for a “serious wound and possibly a break to his right leg.” He was then charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle and eluding police, but the good news is that he should be a finalist at this year’s Irony Awards.
