Pornhub has introduced a brand new narration feature for the site, allowing blind masturbators to listen to audio descriptions of a selection of the sites porn videos.
Pornhub has included narration for 60 of its videos, with voice overs from professional actors describing the scenes unfolding in the clips.
For instance, in this scene from the popular porn production company Fake Taxi, the voice actress describes the scene like so: “Cut to a side shot in the cab and a girl gets in; black hair, lots of make-up, and squeezing a nice curvy figure into a tight blue dress.”
In this video of a woman enjoying a massage from a faceless man, the same voice actress says: “The video begins with a small Latina with dirty blonde hair, lying face down on a massage table with nothing but a small towel covering her ass.” Though I’m not visually impaired, I can imagine this description of her as a “small Latina” would have some confusing connotations. How small is the voice actress talking, exactly? Petite or Borrower?
For this scene, the voice actress says: “She’s on her her hands and knees, her back pleasantly arched. Her butt points up and out.”
Unfortunately she doesn’t clarify how one can successfully arch their back in a pleasant manner.
Pornhub released a statement discussing these new audio descriptions, which reads: “Our described video campaign seeks to help institute a larger dialogue within PornHub’s community with regards to how we can not only better serve the visually impaired, but also to understand how to make the site accessible to all.”
