Doctor Who Returns To Movie Theaters In September

The Doctor will see you… in theaters everywhere!

BBC America and Fathom Events have announced that Doctor Who is heading to the movies in September for a special presentation of the two-part season 8 finale, “Dark Water” and “Death in Heaven” that formally introduced Michelle Gomez as Missy, the female incarnation of the Doctor’s greatest enemy, The Master!

The Doctor Who season 8 finale will be shown in RealD 3D, with an exclusive interview with series stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, conducted by Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation). And to further seal the deal with fans, a prequel to the upcoming ninth season of Doctor Who called “The Doctor’s Meditation” will also be shown.

“We love bringing Doctor Who events to theaters and seeing the fans come out in full force,” said Fathom Events’ Kymberli Frueh. “This time fans get the added excitement of seeing all the action in 3D with exclusive bonus content not available anywhere else.”

Tickets for the Doctor Who event will go on sale on July 31, and the screenings will take place in 700 movie screens across the country on September 15th and September 16th at 7:30pm local time.
