Canadian Actress Sarah Dugdale Moves From TV To Film

Sarah Dugdale is a busy woman – not only is she starring in two films this month on The Movie Network, but she’s coming off her recent work on The CW’s Supernatural, Arrow, and USA Network’s Rush. This month she can be seen as a brainy university student majoring in finance and statistics who is coerced into the life of “sugar babying” by her best friend in SUGARBABIES, out July 24th, and she also plays a self-absorbed member of the Beta Sigma Eta sorority in Sorority Murder on July 31st. Not just another pretty face, this talented young actress is also studying to get her private pilot’s license.

CraveOnline: Tell us about your current projects.

Sarah Dugdale: I have two movies premiering on The Movie Network at the end of July. SUGARBABIES is airing on July 24th and Sorority Murder on July 31st. SUGARBABIES is about Katie, a college girl persuaded by her friend to join the world of sugar babying. I play Rochelle Cranston, a brainy business major with big aspirations. She gets introduced into the life of sugar babying by her best friend. Being a sugar baby comes with certain prejudices and the girls must deal with what it really means to be one.

The thriller Sorority Murder is about a girl named Jennifer who joins the Beta Sigma Eta sorority. Shortly after joining, the president of the sorority is found dead and Jennifer is the prime suspect. I play Gabrielle, a member of the sorority who is a little self absorbed and tougher than she seems.

And any future projects?

Also around Halloween I have a horror movie coming out on SyFy channel called The Hollow

And we hear you’re working toward getting your pilot’s license – when did you discover a love for flying? What is it about flying that you love so much?

My dad has his private pilot’s license and I grew up flying with my family over to Vancouver Island to visit my Grandpa. I also spent my summers volunteering at the Abbotsford International Airshow. I love the perspective that flying gives you. Even though it’s complicated, I find that there is something so calming about being up in the air all by yourself.

Would you consider yourself to be an “adventure seeker”?

Yes totally! I love going on hikes with friends around BC in the summer. During the winter exploring the slopes on my skis is exhilarating.

If you hadn’t gone into acting, what career do you think you may have chosen?

In grade 2 I decided that I was going to be a Marine Biologist. I was so fascinated by the ocean. Even then I knew I didn’t want to work a 9-5 job. I needed something constantly changing and inspiring.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I can beat anybody at a game of Battleship.
