Touted as the biggest annual gathering of winter sports, music, arts, and culture in North America, the World Ski & Snowboard Festival is in full swing right now, wrapping up after the weekend. – it takes places in the one of the country’s most beautiful areas: Whistler.
Whistler Blackcomb also just made an announcement that spring skiing and riding is extended to May 26th given all the snow that they’ve received in February and March.
Just a few highlights of the World Ski & Snowboard Fest: The 2nd Cuts Filmmaker Screening is a screening of all of the completed 72hr Filmmaker Showdown films of 2014- the winner and finalists will be shown near the end of the screening. Dogfest is a celebration of man’s best friend with demos and more, and the World Ski and Snowboard Festival presents Super BRAWL Sunday, a roller derby bout featuring the Whistler’s Black Diamond Betties. This modern-day, high-adrenaline, fast-paced, high-action, full contact sport will be showcased on a whole new level. There’s also always music performances going on as part of the outdoor concert series, and they’re free to check out.
