‘Immortals’ Duo Bring Fallen Angel Drama to A&E

Last year, Syfy ordered “Dominion” to series as a spinoff and a sequel to the fallen angel movie, “Legion.” However, it looks like Syfy may not have the only fallen angel TV show.

Deadline is reporting that A&E is developing “The 36,” from screenwriters Charley and Vlas Parlapanides and producer Michael London. The concept is supposedly derived from “the mystical Jewish concept of the Righteous 36, which stipulates that at all times there are 36 people in the world possessing special powers who don’t necessarily know each other but if even one of them was missing, the world would come to an end.”

For “The 36” TV series, the story will focus on a young man named Dane, who discovers that he is caught in the middle of a war between dark angels (who are collectively known as the Nephilim) and the Righteous 36 in modern day New York.

The Deadline report also notes that the recently canceled Fox drama, “Touch” shared a similar premise about 36 gifted individuals who were sought after by a nefarious organization.

Charley and Vlas Parlapanides previously co-wrote the film, “Immortals” and they have been linked to the American live action adaptation of Death Note.
