CES 2014: Expanded Venues Take the Show to Vegas

CES 2014 VIDEO: Event Update

The Las Vegas Convention Center is the universally recognized HQ for the Consumer Electronic Show every year. However, as the world’s largest tech trade show continues to grow in attendance and scope year after year, it has to expand out into other venues.

There are official CES events at three major Las Vegas properties off of the convention floor, with many other properties renting out their largest suites to exhibitors looking for some privacy to welcome media and corporate VIPs.

LVH (Las Vegas Hotel – the former Las Vegas Hilton) is the convention center’s closest neighbor. So it naturally hosts satellite exhibitor space. The LVH and LVH Pavilion will host this year’s iLounge — a look at the third party accessory makers for iPhones, iPads, iPods and anything coming down the pipe for iOS.

About a 15 minute walk from LVCC, the Venetian Ballroom within its massive host hotel and casino complex will welcome the largest satellite collection of CES exhibitors. Attendees can consider the Venetian edition a sort of mini-CES  hosting exhibitors who couldn’t quite squeeze onto the main floor where they otherwise belong.

Next door to the Venetian and Palazzo (its sister property) The Wynn Resort gets into the CES swing with the Showstoppers show. From 6-10 pm on January 7, select companies got a jump on the CES fuss at this special reception for media on site for the convention’s early phases. For journalists, it’s a great chance to get a look at gadgets away from the massive crush on the convention floor.
