IDW Develops Michael Chiklis‘ ‘Pantheon’ For Television

IDW Publishing recently announced a new TV division called IDW Entertainment that was formed so the company could create and sell television and film projects based on IDW comics. Now the first IDW Entertainment project has been revealed.

According to Deadline, IDW Entertainment is developing “Pantheon,” based upon the comic created by Michael Chiklis, Anny Simon Beck and Marc Andreyko that was published in 210 and drawn by Stephen Molnar. The premise for “Pantheon” is that the Greek gods are returning to Earth as they fight for the future of humanity.

IDW Entertainment is currently searching for a showrunner to join the “Pantheon” development before the project is taken out to networks. Apparently the hope is to sell “Pantheon” direct-to-series. It’s not clear if Chiklis will star in the potential “Pantheon” TV series, but it seems likely given that his likeness was used for Zeus’ human form in the comic.

Chiklis is primarily known for starring in “The Shield,” the two Fantastic Four films and his single season stints on “No Ordinary Family” and “Vegas.”
