NFL to Fight Scalping … By Raising Super Bowl Ticket Prices

Crave’s NESN reported Tuesday the NFL is more than doubling the cost of a ticket to the Super Bowl at Met Life Stadium, home of the NY Giants, to $2,600.

The tickets that were $950 are now $1,500. The reason, says the NFL, is because fans who are lucky enough to score a ticket end up making a ton of money flipping them to someone else and watching the game from home. So the only way the league can get its money is by charging more up front rather than letting scalpers take more profit.

Good news for those of you who want the cheap seats, those tickets went from $600 to $500 this year. So … yay?
