‘True Blood’ Season 7 Promotes Amelia Rose Blaire

For the sixth season of “True Blood,” Amelia Rose Blaire signed on for a recurring role as Willa Burrell, the daughter of Governor Burrell and vampire rights activist turned vampire. And after appearing in nearly every episode of the season, Blaire will have a significant promotion next season.

Deadline is reporting that Blaire has been upped to series regular on “True Blood.” Prior to “True Blood,” Blair appeared in “Royal Pains,” “The Glades,” “Touch,” “The Protector” and “Grimm.”

Earlier this week, “True Blood” showrunner Brian Buckner confirmed that Willa’s maker, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) will also be returning to the show next season despite his near death in the season finale. Buckner also laid out the new status quo of Bon Temps that brings the vampire and human characters together.

“Here’s my sincere hope: that we get to see more of everybody we love, because everybody is under the banner of fewer stories,” said Buckner. “The story is ‘for every human a vampire, for every vampire a human,’ and now that there’s a lesser need for separate plot and separate story development for every single character that we have, we’re actually going to get to spend more time with them. That’s my hope, that’s the motivation, and that’s where it’s all coming from.”

“True Blood” will return to HBO in Summer 2014.
