Sportsnet Magazine Releases The Beauty of Sport Edition

Sportsnet magazine has released its second edition of “The Beauty of Sport,” with 28 Canadian athletes showcased including cover athlete and Olympic Games cross-country mountain biker Emily Batty. Also The Beauty of Sport Online features special bonus videos, images, and more.

“Great athletes are strong, they’re fast, they’re graceful, they’re fearless and they’re tough. And that is a big part of why we can’t take our eyes off of them,” said Steve Maich, editor-in-chief of Sportsnet, in a press release. “We tend to focus on the stats and strategies, but the real beauty of sport is often reflected most viscerally in the bodies of the athletes.”

With the stunning Red Rock Canyon serving as a backdrop, Olympic Games cross-country mountain biker Batty graces the issue’s cover. Amongst the Canadian athletes featured in The Beauty of Sport include figure skater Tessa Virtue, paddlers Adam van Koeverden and Mark Oldershaw, Canadian Women’s National Team soccer players Kaylyn Kyle, Lauren Sesselmann and Emily Zurrer, skeleton racer Mellissa Hollingsworth, NHL stars P.K. Subban and Joffrey Lupul, Paralympic swimmer Summer Mortimer, and more.

And for fans who can’t get enough of The Beauty of Sport, check out the magazine’s website, which features a jackpot of additional content, including behind-the-scenes videos and images of their favourite athletes.
