Emily Bett Rickards Promoted For ‘Arrow’ Season 2

Yesterday, the CW unexpectedly renewed “Arrow” for a second season months ahead of the TV upfronts. And today, the creative team behind “Arrow” added a new series regular.

Emily Bett Rickards has officially been promoted to a regular cast member for “Arrow” Season 2. Rickards portrays Queen Consolidated’s resident computer genius, Felicity Smoake; who has often been called upon this season by Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Walter Steele (Colin Salmon).

Felicity has been a fan favorite character during the first season who has often been compared to Allison Mack’s portrayal of Chloe Sullivan in “Smallville.” Judging from the preview images online, Felicity will also have a major part to play in this Wednesday’s episode of “Arrow.”

Prior to appearing in “Arrow,” Rickards appeared in the Canadian TV series, “Soldiers of the Apocalypse.”

“Arrow” continues its first season on the CW this Wednesday. But to tide you over, check out the midseason trailer that has some scenes from last week’s episode… and also several scenes from the weeks to come, including Oliver’s training at the hands of Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett).
