Lost ‘Temple of Doom’ Footage Finally Discovered!

One of the coolest movie urban legends involves a day on the set of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when Harrison Ford was chained to a rock. According to rumor, Barbara Streisand came out unexpectedly came out dressed like a dominatrix and started whipping him, yelling things like, “This is for Hanover Street!” and “This is for all the money you’re going to make on Return of the Jedi!” I have personally told this story to dozens of people who simply couldn’t believe that something so outlandish was true, because there was no footage to back it up.

Well now… There is.

Yes, JoBlo has uncovered footage, shot off of a video village monitor (so get ready to squint a bit), that proves that not only did the world’s best movie prank happen, but that it was even better than previously reported. Not only does Streisand do exactly what I’ve always said she did (based, admittedly, on no proof whatsoever), but when an extra tries to stop her, Harrison Ford asks who’s behind him, Carrie Fisher pops out of the costume, kisses him and says, “Someone who needs you.” And Empire Strikes Back director shows up and starts directing their “scene.”

Warning. Some NSFW content and language follows:

The footage is reportedly from Spielberg’s private library and is being considered for an upcoming Blu-Ray release, but unfortunately the last line, in which Barbara Streisand says something pretty damned insensitive, might mean it won’t make it to home video.

This is the coolest thing you’ll see today. Even if you have to squint. WATCH IT NOW!

CraveOnline will be back after we watch this thing again. And again. And again. Man, this is almost as good as finding the Spider Pit footage from King Kong.
