TV Reporter Gets Interrupted by Mom During Shoot, Proves You Can’t Spell “Smother” Without Mother (Video)

Moms embarrass their kids. It’s just part of the job. They might not mean to do it, but many a mortifying moment has been brought to you by mothers all over the globe. The latest victim of smothering (whoops, we mean “mothering”) was Myles Harris, an ABC journalist based in Ohio. He was preparing to shoot a TV news segment when his mom did an embarrassing drive-by…and a video of her crashing his broadcast went viral.

In the clip, Harris is preparing to go on air in front of a street when he notices something off-camera and throws his arms up in the air.

“This is my mom, hold on,” the embarrassed reporter tells his cameraman DeAngelo Byrd.

A car pulls up and an elderly woman leans toward the passenger window.

“Hi, baby!” Harris’ mom, Sandi, yells from the driver’s seat.

“I’m trying to work right now and you’re over there calling my phone,” Harris moans. Then his manners kick in. “This is DeAngelo, you can say hi.”

“Hi DeAngelo!” Sandi says with an enthusiastic smile and a wave.

“Don’t be holding up traffic, because you’ve got cars behind you,” Harris tells her, growing increasingly exasperated.

“All right!” Sandi says, then blows a kiss before driving off.

Perhaps Harris should thank his mom, because this video has more views – over 1 million – than anything else he’s ever posted on Instagram.

As for the comments section: a whole lotta love for Sandi.

“This is amazing,” one wrote.

“Moms always gon be ya biggest cheerleader,” another opined.

“Mama was going around the city looking g for him just to say hi,” a third observed. “Gotta love a good mom.”

In a follow-up post, Harris shared a pair of sweet photos of himself with his mom.

“Far from normal work day. Wouldn’t be able to do it without my best friend,” he captioned the shots alongside a heart emoji and the hashtag #hibaby.

How much you wanna bet she forced him to post that? Long live Sandi.
