Couple Leaves Waitress $400 Tip, Have An Even More Generous Offer

Well damn, that’s certainly not 15%. I don’t think. I was never good at math.

While these a-holes decided to leave a “lecture” instead of a tip, and these diners left a “LOL” instead of a tip, one couple eating at a popular Waikiki restaurant decided to leave something a tad better — like $400 better.

Cayla Chandara is a waitress at Noi Thai Cuisine, and she happened to wait on a very nice couple from Australia. Chandara and the Aussies got to talking while the couple dined.

“They asked me where I was from, and I told them I moved here for school but I was kind of in a little bit of debt and I couldn’t go back to school, because I couldn’t afford it and the cost of living here,” Chandara said.

Well when Chandara gave them their $200 bill, the couple went ahead and doubled that and made it her tip. That’s right, they gave Chandara $400 bucks.

“I just thought it was so generous of them,” Chandara said. “I never get tipped that big. I had to say thank you. During dinner, they told me where they were staying, so I ran there after work to see if they’d still be there.”

Luckily for Chandara, the couple was still there, so the waitress handed them flowers and a thank-you card. Well damn, she certainly seems like a nice gal. But guess what? The couple had an incredible offer for Chandara. The couple actually offered to help her pay off her student loans and debt, which totaled more than $10K.

“I was like, ‘No way, you don’t have to do that for me. I just wanted to say thank you,’” Chandara said. “I still don’t feel like it’s real. I want to run around in the streets.”

The couple did not want their identity revealed.

“I want to make them proud. I will take this opportunity with an open heart and be a better person that I can be every day,” Chandara said. Chandara plans to study liberal arts and business when she returns to school. Liberal arts? May want to change that major, Chandara.

In other news, if the couple is still feeling generous, they can pay off my debt. Thanks, mates!
