Since Batman â66 returned to comics, heâs reunited with the Green Hornet and teamed up with The Man From U.N.C.L.E., but now itâs time for the Caped Crusader to cross paths with the Avengers!
But there are no Hulks here. The Avengers in question are Steed and Mrs. Peel from the British TV series, The Avengers, one of the iconic programs of the â60s. For Batman â66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel, DC Comics and Boom! Studios are teaming up for a 12-chapter digital-first comic book series. And it sounds like a lot of fun!
âAs Bruce Wayne shows the beautiful head of a UK electronics company the sights of Gotham, they are interrupted by the felonious feline Catwoman! Unwilling to leave Miss Michaela Gough unprotected, Bruce resigns himself to the fact that Batman cannot save the day. But some new players have arrived in town â though even as the lovely, catsuit-clad Mrs. Peel and her comrade John Steed take control of the situation, nefarious plots continue apace!â
Batman â66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel will be written by Ian Edginton, with Matthew Dow Smith as the artist. Mike Allred provided the cover image posted above, and Cat Staggs will draw the variant cover for the first issue.
Fans of print comics will get their chance to buy a six-issue compilation of Batman â66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel on Wednesday, July 6. The digital version of Batman â66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel will be available for download on June 8, via the DC Comics App, Readdcentertainment.com, iBooks, comiXology, Google Play, Kindle Store, Nook Store, and iVerse ComicsPlus.
