Miranda Otto Joins 24: Legacy In Leading Role

Start the clock, 24 has new leading lady!

Fox has announced that Miranda Otto has signed on for 24: Legacy, a spinoff series from the original 24. Otto will portray Rebecca Ingram, one of the main characters of the 24 revival. Within the world of the show, Rebecca was once the director of CTU (Counter Terrorism Unit) before she left the agency and married a senator. When 24: Legacy begins, Rebecca will have reasons to rethink her exit from CTU.

Otto recently recurred on Showtime’s Homeland, and she is best known for her roles in The Lord of the Rings films, War of the Worlds, The Thin Red Line, and What Lies Beneath.

Earlier this week, Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins was cast as the male lead of 24: Legacy. Hawkins will play Eric Carter, a former Army Ranger who reaches out to CTU for help in stopping what could be the biggest terrorist attack on American soil.

Kiefer Sutherland is not expected to reprise his role as Jack Bauer in 24: Legacy, and there are currently no plans to bring back any of the characters from the original 24.

24: Legacy only has a pilot order from Fox, and it will be filmed this year. If 24: Legacy gets picked up to series, it will get a 12 episode season as opposed to 24’s 24 episode seasons.
