Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Has a Creepy Doctor Who ‘Weeping Angels’ Easter Egg

Treyarch have inserted a particularly fun Easter Egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which features a big nod to Doctor Who and its terrifying Weeping Angels.

The Easter Egg is available to uncover in the game’s version of the popular Nuketown map, with players being tasked with shooting all of its mannequins arms off in under 2 minutes if they wish to initiate it. Once this has been done a bell will toll, and the game’s mannequins will suddenly spring to life.

However, like the aforementioned Weeping Angels, Nuketown’s mannequins will only move if you and every other player refrain from looking at them. When your back is turned, the mannequins will then charge towards you, attacking you with their flailing limbs.

Take a look in the video below:

This is certainly one of the better Easter Eggs we’ve seen in a video game, but it leaves us a little disappointed that this wasn’t fleshed out into its own mode. Not that Black Ops 3 doesn’t offer enough content, what with its robust multiplayer offering, campaign and zombie mode, but this has certainly made us want to see a Mannequin Weeping Angels survival-horror mode in a future CoD game. Considering the series’ propensity for trying to please its fans, we imagine that this isn’t too much of a long-shot, either.
