Patrick Mathis is a uniquely talented French musician, whose approach to the traditional barrel organ (l’orgue de barbarie), an instrument popular among organ grinders of the late 19th century, is downright stupefying. Watch below as he performs a flawless cover of the classic Michael Jackson song “Smooth Criminal” on an instrument that looks pulled out of a museum – or the junkyard rubble it’s set in.
