ElectroTrack Therapy: Selena Gomez’s “Good For You” Featuring A$AP Rocky (KASBO Remix)

I’m not one to offer praise to little Mousekateers turned pop icons because they look good in spandex and know how to shake their money makers on stage. I am, however, one who will offer praise to a beautiful girl with a serious set of pipes that’s successfully graced the tracks of ground breaking producers like Zedd, and the hottest hip hop artists on the scene like A$AP Rocky

Yes, I’m talking about Selena Gomez and her latest track “Good For You” featuring A$AP Rocky and remixed by KASBO. While I was a partial fan of the original track, the remix brings it all to a whole new level.

The two tracks start off pretty similarly, but the new composition begins to take hold shortly after the second bar with the addition of a softly escalating high hat build up.  This serves as solid transition into the chorus,  which quickly explodes into a massive future bass drop – adding some much needed texture and depth to the arrangement.

After a sturdy bridge consisting of brushes on the drums and tropical notes on the xylophone, and a few more bars of Selena’s angelic vocals, A$AP comes in strong and sets the track spinning towards its conclusion with his signature acid rap lyric attack.
