Things are getting hot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Hell’s Kitchen! Daredevil Season 2 is already in production, and now a new cast member has just joined Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and his crusade against crime.

Deadline is reporting that Stephen Rider (pictured above) has joined the second season of Daredevil as District Attorney Blake Tower, a new ally for Murdock’s vigilante alter ego. Rider is best known for his roles in Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Safe House, The Host, Shameless, and the short lived TV series, Lucky 7. Rider is signed as a series regular on Daredevil.

Marvel also announced that Mahershala Ali (pictured above) has joined Luke Cage as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, an updated version of the classic comic book villain with the same name. Luke Cage’s enemies (and even Cage himself) were very “blaxploitation” in the ‘70s. Therefore, the Luke Cage series on Netflix is offering more modern takes on Black Mariah (Alfre Woodard) and Shades (Theo Rossi).

Ali just spent three seasons on Netflix’s House of Cards, and he is well known for playing Boggs in The Hunger Games film series. Mike Colter will play Luke Cage himself, with Simone Missick as Misty Knight and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, a role she originated in Daredevil earlier this year.

Both Daredevil Season 2 and Luke Cage Season 1 will premiere on Netflix in 2016.
