New Order Turn to Sword and Sorcery for ‘Restless’ Music Video

New Order have returned with the music video for the first single from their upcoming album Music Complete, with ‘Restless’ borrowing its cues from the ancient tale of Excalibur.

The video, directed by filmmakers NYSU, sees a twenty-something-year-old King Arthur pulling the fabled sword from the stone before indulging in an array of neon-lit debauchery, bringing the old English legend into the modern day. Unfortunately, while the video might be eye-catching the music accompanying it is hardly New Order’s best work.

With the band now functioning with a line-up that doesn’t include bassist Peter Hook, the band have turned to guest appearances from other musicians including Iggy Pop, Brandon Flowers and Elly Jackson in order to up the star power on Music Complete, and hopefully their contributions seek to make the LP’s other tracks more memorable than ‘Restless.’

Music Complete will be released on September 25th.
