Microsoft Partners with Real Madrid as “Technological Partners”

Microsoft has partnered with Real Madrid as “technological partners” in order to bring the club closer to their fans.

The new deal will see the club giving its fans greater access to information through Microsoft’s various devices and platforms, along with providing them with a wide range of images of the squad both on and off the pitch. Sebastián Lancestremére, the COO of Microsoft’s sports department, said of the partnership: “This technological application will allow fans at the stadium to individually follow the player they want, view repeats of goals from different camera angles, but also for the millions of fans around the world who support the team and its players, to make direct purchases of products and other things related to the club.”

A brief video unveiling the partnership shows the likes of Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos highlighting how the deal will allow them to connect with their fans, with Real Madrid hoping that it will allow fans of the club outside of Spain to be able to keep up to date with them better than ever before, allowing them to see the performance and progress of individual players.

A statement from Microsoft reads: “Through technology, Microsoft is changing the way futbol is played, coached, watched and experienced. And from that, the passion that powers Real Madrid will grow for fans, for players, for the team and for the entire organization. Hala Madrid!”
