Shadow of Mordor’s Acclaimed Nemesis System is Featured in New Trailer

For a long time the enemies in video games have been not much more than fodder for combat. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor pulverized that trend this week, demonstrating that relationships in video games can have depth and history.

A new trailer released today highlights Shadow of Mordor‘s Nemesis system, a quality that has made it a key topic on discussion forms and social media. In this video, you get to view Mordor from the perspective of the Uruk army. An individual Orc grows in experience, becoming a force not to be reckoned with, the perfect foe for a vengeful hero like Talion. Check it out above.

Shadow of Mordor features a variety of other great qualities, too. It has a visceral combat system similar to that of the Batman Arkham series, as well as an open-world environment set in Tokien’s The Lord of the Rings universe. If you haven’t already given it a good look, and enjoy action games and/or RPGs, you should reconsider.
