Nintendo Ad Leaks Super Smash Bros. Wii U Release Date

A Nintendo ad has seemingly leaked the release date of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as November 21st.

It was previously rumored that the game would be landing in late November after images of marketing material for the game were leaked that also featured the November 21st date. However, now the rumour is all but set in stone as an advertisement on p-nintendo.com also stated that the game would be released on the very same date, as pointed out by a NeoGAF user. You can see a screenshot of the ad below:

The 3DS version of the game has already sold over 1 million copies in Japan since going on sale last week, though it will be coming to North America and Europe on October 3rd. This means that if the November 21st release date is to be believed, the Wii U version of the game will be arriving nearly 2 months following its handheld counterpart. This is certainly an odd decision on Nintendo’s behalf, with that lengthy gap in between the two releases meaning that many may instead opt to purchase the portable game rather than choose to jump on Nintendo’s ailing home console.

Regardless, Japanese sales of the game would certainly indicate that one way or another, this game is going to be a huge success for Nintendo.
