Amy Gumenick Is Cupid In ‘Arrow’ Season 3

Back in 2009, “Arrow” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg was the writer of the Green Arrow/Black Canary comic book series when he created Carrie Cutter aka Cupid, an artificially superpowered woman who was dangerously obsessed with the idea of being Green Arrow’s lover.

While Cupid wasn’t around in the first two seasons of “Arrow,” that will change very quickly in the upcoming third season. Entertainment Weekly broke the story about Cupid’s introduction on “Arrow,” where she will be played by Amy Gumenick.

Like her comic book counterpart, Cupid will maintain her obsession with the Arrow (Stephen Amell) and appear in the sixth and seventh episodes of the third season. While speaking with EW, Kreisberg said “I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan. When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character.”

“Arrow” Season 3 will premiere on The CW on Wednesday, October 8.
