EA Charges Xbox One Owners for FIFA and UFC Demos

EA has been charging Xbox One owners for demos of FIFA 14 and EA Sports UFC due to an “error in the system.”

After NeoGAF user WarpathDC noted that demo content for FIFA 14 was being sold for $4.99 on the Xbox One’s Marketplace, it was then discovered by Polygon that FIFA 14 and EA Sports UFC‘s demos were being sold for $6.65 on the Xbox One in Australia. EA Australia confirmed that this was an error, and that the same issue wasn’t apparent on the PlayStation Network.

Fans were quick to point out that this could be a heinous marketing tactic on behalf of EA, though the publisher has denied that this is the case and that the error should be rectified within the next 24 hours.

It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not any users have paid for these demos, nor whether EA will be issuing refunds if this is the case.
