Gears of War 4 Hiring Page Mentions “Best in Class Visuals” Using “New Rendering Techniques”

Black Tusk Studios, the team responsible for the Xbox One’s upcoming Gears of War game, are currently on a hiring spree. More than 10 positions are looking to be filled by the best and brightest in the industry. They’ll need the best of the best if they’re looking to accomplish what the description says they’re aiming for.

On Microsoft’s Careers portal, a position is available at Black Tusk for a Senior Rendering Engineer. It isn’t that they’re hiring for the Gears of War 4 team that’s surprising, it’s what the page says.

In the job description it states:

You will be responsible for developing core rendering features and workflows, and bleeding edge new rendering techniques to deliver best in class visuals for an AAA Console game.

In regards to visuals, previous Gears of War titles were best in class, with Gears of War being one of the Xbox 360’s first pieces of eye candy, and Gears of War 3 remaining one of the top five best looking games of the last console generation.

Truthfully, the Xbox One needs something similar. It hasn’t had a proficient demonstration of its hardware. Will Gears of War 4 be the game that achieves that? Possibly, but it’s going to need something between now and then because Gears of War 4 isn’t anticipated to launch for at least another two years.
