Prince Won’t Be Playing Large Venues in UK Following Intimate London Gig

Prince has revealed that he won’t be playing any large venues in the UK, following an intimate gig at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music before the gig, Prince said that he and his band 3rd Eye would not not be taking to the O2 Arena again, as he did back in 2007. He said: “That was a different time, this is a different band. We’ll work our way up, if people like us, to bigger venues.”

Prince also described his trip to London as “open-ended”, though he did not reveal any solid plans on venues he and his band will be playing in. However, he did express an interest in performing at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and the Bag O’ Nails Club, both located in Soho.”We’re going to be here until people don’t want to hear us any more”, Prince said.

He also revealed how he wanted to charge around $10 (roughly £6) per ticket for the shows. “This is a new band”, he said. “People are getting something new.”
