No Splitscreen Multiplayer for Titanfall, “Still Full Fledged” Says Respawn

Things have only gotten worse for Titanfall this month. Following the revelation that the game only supports 12 players per map, and that there are tons of bots in each match to make it feel more chaotic, we’ve learned that it’s missing a key ingredient for shooter fans.

Asked by a Twitter user as to whether or not Titanfall will have splitscreen multiplayer, the official Respawn account replied:

No, it’s not a feature in Titanfall

Consequently, some gamers were put-off, and began wondering how the game justifies its $59.99 price tag when it has no singleplayer or local multiplayer to speak of. Respawn’s community manager Abbie Heppe commented:

it is still a full fledged game.

Yes, the feature set of Titanfall is beginning to look a bit disconcerting, but this is still the same game that wowed press at last year’s E3. Additionally, leaked alpha impressions have been very positive. This is a game that is trying to create an identity of its own. It’s just unfortunate that the ways to play are so limited as a result.
