Watch: Paul McCartney’s Covent Garden Appearance Shocks Londoners

Paul McCartney performed an impromptu set in the middle of Covent Garden today (October 18th), surprising Londoners by running through four tracks from his latest album NEW in an unannounced gig.

Taking to the stage, McCartney said: “Welcome to Covent Garden! Get your phones out – as if they weren’t out already,” adding: “We’re allowed 20 minutes up here, so we’d better be quick.”

Before playing new single ‘Queenie Eye’, the former Beatle said: “Things have changed since the ’60s. We’d have been coming in from the clubs round about now, never mind having to get up and sing.”

The performance included the tracks ‘New’, ‘Save Us’, ‘Everybody Out There’, ‘Queenie Eye’ and finished with an encore performance of ‘New’ again.
