Paul McCartney Claims He Can ‘Remember Being Born’

Beatles legend Paul McCartney has made an unusual confession on Amy Poehler’s podcast. He said that he recalled being born. McCartney, however, admitted that the memory may actually be his imagination.

Paul McCartney tells Amy Poehler he believes he remembers being born but admits the memory could be imagined

Speaking on “Good Hang With Amy Poehler,” McCartney said that he could remember his birth in some detail.

He said: “I have this feeling that I kind of remember being born. Uh, so I I kind of remember white tiles, very sort of hygienic white tiles and um chrome instruments and a clanging uh because I was a forceps birth. I they had to pull me out.”

McCartney was born on June 18, 1942, at Walton Hospital in Liverpool.

Speaking to Poehler, he said: “Yeah. These things you don’t know if you’ve made it up. Yeah, sure. Or or if it’s But I I have this feeling that I kind of remember being born….

“So I sort of think I remember [my forceps birth]. How funny. That’s I don’t know if it’s true. The other question that she had was, ‘What is Monk Berry Moon Delight and have you smoked it?’”

In an earlier interview with The Guardian, McCartney was similarly sceptical about the memory.

“OK, well, now we get into dubious territory, because I have a feeling I can remember being born…

“Highly dubious, highly dubious, but I feel the white tiles and chrome instruments and the sounds. It’s probably total bulls**t….

McCartney also had some painful memories, especially of his mother, Mary, who died when he was 14. He described how her death had impacted his family, especially his father.

“My mum dying when I was fourteen was the big shock in my teenage years. She died of cancer, I learnt later. I didn’t know then why she had died…”

McCartney has continued to revisit his past through his latest album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. On the album, he explores memories of his youth and his fellow Beatles.
