Azealia Banks Stages Another Listen Out Storm Off

Rapper Azealia Banks staged another walk out on Australian fans, this time storming off stage 90 seconds into her set at the Listen Out festival in Melbourne.

What was supposed to be a 50-minute set was cut incredibly short on Saturday night when Banks dropped her mic and walked off to a chorus of boos after a can of beer was thrown on stage during her opening song ‘ATM Jam’.

“Azealia Banks was forced to cut her set short last night at the Listen Out Festival in Melbourne on 5th October 2013,” read a statement from Listen Out. “This was as a result of a member of the audience throwing a full can on beer at her on stage. The incident made Azealia and her stage crew feel unsafe. Banks would like to apologise to those fans in the audience whose experience was affected by the behaviour of one individual.”

“Sorry to all the festival-goers in Melbourne !!!!! See ya tomorrow in Brisbane !!!!!,” she tweeted six minutes later before letting her Twitter followers know she was heading off for sushi.

A similar event occurred at Listen Out in Sydney last weekend another beer was thrown at the 22-year-old 15 minutes into her headline set.

Aussie fans took to social media to demand refunds for the $132 Listen Out tickets.

Banks’ Listen Out form continues a growing list of Australian controversies- she walked out at last year’s Splendour In The Grass 25 minutes into her set, blaming suspect equipment before berating fellow Future Music Festival acts Stone Roses and Rita Ora during the festival via Twitter in March.

The singer of 212, which has amassed an 58 million YouTube views, got through her set at the final leg of the tour in Brisbane on Sunday night.
