The Weeknd’s new album Kiss Land has been called obsessive and misogynist, and the latest video off the record isn’t going to help matters much. In Abel Tesfaye’s new video for “Pretty,” a discomforting ballad from the album, the crooner hops on a plane and makes his way to and through Tokyo to find a girl, who has other plans for her night – very naked plans with another man, to be more specific.
Needless to say, things don’t go very well. We won’t ruin the surprise, but here’s hoping you’re not queasy about seeing a hot asian girl bloodied and riddled with bullets. If you are, just try to imagine the gene splicing of R.Kelly and Michael Jackson the accompanying song suggests was necessary to produce these sounds.
