Exclusive Premiere: Rival Tides Hit The Ground Running With Self-Titled EP

Los Angeles rock quintet Rival Tides unleash their debut self-titled EP on September 17th, but CraveOnline’s got the jump with an exclusive premiere of the entire offering a day early.

The EP was produced by the LA-based Erik Ron (I the Mighty, Panic! at the Disco, VersaEmerge) at Grey Area Studios in North Hollywood, CA. Since the five members of Rival Tides have worked with Ron on their past release as Harris Grade, he seemed like the natural choice to bring on board to help develop the new sound.

“Erik is an incredibly talented producer and a good friend,” says drummer Greg Fulleman. “He really challenged us, but also helped us shape the sound we were hoping to develop. The musical style was a bit different [from Harris Grade] and we felt like the name should be changed to be more fitting with our new direction. Erik  really helped define it and solidify an avenue for us.”

Rival Tides will release their new EP digitally and to vinyl – limited to 250 pieces (75 clear w/ blue splatter, 175 clear). The vinyl release comes exclusively on Pizza Time Records, a brand new independent label started by drummer Greg Fulleman. The tracks were re-mastered specifically for vinyl by UE Nastasi (The Receiving End of Sirens, Panic! at the Disco, AC/DC) at Sterling Sound. Pre-orders for the vinyl release will be announced on Friday, August 23rd.
