Rockstar Goes On A Rampage to Remove GTA 5 Leaked Content

Grand Theft Auto V is releasing on September 17th, and while some people are already playing, Rockstar doesn’t want you to see any of their experience until the game’s out.

Following Gaming Blend’s compilation of pre-release footage, a user who uploaded one of the videos reported that he was banned from Xbox Live. The reason for being banned was as follows:

Pre-Release Footage: No pre-release leaked footage of any kind: Any posting of in-game footage from leaked copies of the game prior to its official release date will be taken down, regardless of how the game was obtained. This includes “early unboxing” videos.

Microsoft put its foot down within hours of the video being posted, presumably due to pressure from Rockstar Games to keep media from disseminating on the internet.

Their job will be difficult for the next three days as dozens if not hundreds of people are posting screenshots, video, and even streaming their game experience. The game has even leaked onto torrent sites where thousands of pirates are battling over each seeded byte.
