Tom Holland & Zendaya’s New Outfits Spark Venom & Spider-Man Speculation

Tom Holland and Zendaya’s latest appearance has fans talking beyond the red carpet. Their matching black looks have fueled fresh theories tied to Spider-Man’s symbiote future.

The couple stepped out together for a major promotional event, and some fans believe the fashion choices may have been more than just a style statement. For now, the speculation remains just that, but it has quickly spread online.

Tom Holland and Zendaya’s red carpet looks draw symbiote speculations

Tom Holland and Zendaya reunited on the red carpet in Madrid for the first official photocall of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Zendaya wore a black Christian Cowan dress with a fringed skirt, while Holland chose a custom Jacquemus outfit featuring a black jacket layered over a red shirt and tie (via PEOPLE).

Tom Holland and Zendaya may be hinting at the black suit in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, at least according to some fan theories. The couple recently made their first red carpet appearance together in five years, dating back to the Spider-Man: No Way Home era, and many fans think their outfits were too specific to be a coincidence.

With the official Brand New Day world tour now underway, some believe the looks chosen for these appearances are carefully planned. A fan has pointed to Zendaya’s black dress, saying it resembles the symbiote spreading and taking over. Tom’s outfit featured black layered over red, which the fan interprets as the black suit gradually replacing Spider-Man’s traditional colors.

Another account, named Marvel Mania, wrote that Zendaya “may have just teased the ‘SYMBIOTE’ in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”

For those not in the know, Michael Mando, who is playing Scorpion in the upcoming film, had earlier shared a now-deleted comic image featuring Scorpion and Venom. The actor also shared another one where Scorpion is being taken over by the Symbiote.

It’s common knowledge that the black suit saga is one of Spider-Man’s most famous stories and that Peter Parker eventually obtaining the symbiote ahead of Avengers: Secret Wars has long been a popular prediction.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026. Holland returns as Peter Parker, with Zendaya reprising her role as MJ. Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas have also joined the cast. The film follows the events of No Way Home, which ended with the world forgetting Peter’s identity.
