Dead Spider-Man Character’s MCU Return Will Happen, Says Insider

A character believed to have died in Spider-Man: Brand New Day could return to the MCU. A new insider update has fueled speculation about the character’s fate and a possible connection to Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot.

MyTimeToShineHello shared the latest update about Sarah Grey, Jean Grey’s older sister, in a reply to their own X post. On October 13, the insider wrote, “Sarah will be back. She’s ALIVE?” They later followed up with “X-Men reboot,” seemingly hinting at a movie where she could return. However, Marvel Studios has not confirmed the claim or announced Sarah’s involvement in the upcoming X-Men film.

Is Jean Grey’s sister Sarah still alive after Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Olivia Booth-Ford portrays Sarah Grey, while Sadie Sink plays her younger sister, Jean Grey. Sarah has telepathic abilities that make her a target for the Department of Damage Control (DODC), which captures her and experiments to replicate her mutant powers.

Sarah’s apparent death plays a key role in Jean’s story. As Jean searches for Sarah, she learns what happened to her sister while she was in DODC custody. The revelation deepens Jean’s emotional turmoil and shapes her actions throughout the Spider-Man film.

MyTimeToShineHello’s latest post suggests Sarah’s story might continue beyond the movie. However, the insider hasn’t explained how she survived or offered more details about her potential role in the X-Men reboot.

If the rumor proves accurate, Sarah’s return could allow Marvel to explore her relationship with Jean further. Her survival could also shape Jean’s journey as the MCU introduces more X-Men-connected characters. However, the studio has not officially revealed the film’s plot.

Marvel has already revealed several actors who will lead its new X-Men film. Alongside Sink, the cast includes Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, and Christopher Abbott as Professor X. Inde Navarrette will play Rogue, Maya Boyd will portray Storm, and Adam Driver will star as Mister Sinister. The film will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2028.

Marvel has not announced Sarah Grey for the reboot’s cast. Until the studio confirms her survival or involvement, fans can only speculate about her potential return.
