A fresh rumor about Avengers: Doomsday suggests that Marvel could reverse one of the most tragic revelations in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to the rumor, Jean Grey’s older sister, Sara Grey, could appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
Popular Marvel scooper @MyTimeToShineH shared the update on X. Sara died while in the Department of Damage Control’s custody, prompting Jean to unleash her powers at the facility. The rumor leaves open the possibility that Sara survived or that Doctor Doom could somehow bring her back. If Sara happens to be alive, the possibility suggests that Jean could have been misled about her death.
The rumor follows other unconfirmed claims that characters from the Infinity Saga and Multiverse Saga could appear in Avengers: Doomsday. However, no update from Marvel has come out yet, so this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
What happened to Sara Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

Sara Grey was a mutant with telepathic abilities similar to Jean’s. The Department of Damage Control took her into custody and experimented on her. While Sara was held by the DDC, her younger sister, Jean, searched for her and crossed paths with Spider-Man and the Punisher.
The DDC eventually captured Jean with Spider-Man’s help. Jean later discovered that her sister had died in captivity and unleashed her telepathic powers across New York. Spider-Man and the Punisher worked together to save the city, but the web-slinger was seriously wounded in the process. Jean used her powers to keep Spider-Man alive, then left town after he regained consciousness.
Sara Grey also appears in Marvel Comics, although her comic-book history differs from her MCU counterpart’s. The character was vocal about mutant rights and was killed by anti-mutant factions. Her children were slain by the Shi’ar Death Commandos, who killed every member of the Grey family save Marvel Girl and Cable.
