Kevin Durant Donated $1M To Red Cross For Oklahoma Tornado Disaster Relief

Oklahoma City Thunder forward and NBA superstar, Kevin Durant, just donated 5% of his salary to the Red Cross to help the victims of the devasting tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. You made a Facebook post. CBS Sports reports:

In a big time of need, Kevin Durant is once again coming through in the clutch for Oklahoma City. Per the Red Cross, Durant has given a $1 million donation to the Oklahoma tornado disaster relief fund. On Monday, Durant tweeted, “Praying for the victims of the Tornadoes in OKC these last few days..Everybody stay safe!” One thing I want to add about Durant’s donation: It’s almost not news. Because it’s the least surprising thing ever. It’s who he is. I knew it was coming. It was just a matter of if the news would find its way to the public. If there’s a professional athlete that truly gets it, it’s Kevin Durant.

Unlike the Knicks’ roster, it’s good to see an NBA player without his head up his ass who truly understands the bigger picture. The bigger picture being that we’re all just floating around on this big blue-green ball that hates us and is trying to kill us at every possible moment without remorse or pity. And if you have money to try to mitigate or slow the inevitable slaughter, you should chip in to help whenever possible. Happy Tuesday, everyone!
