Heath Ledger’s autopsy has been deemed inconclusive pending toxicology results. Ledger was allegedly suffering from pneumonia at the time of his death, so the operating theory right now is accidental overdose due to a combination of pneumonia and the adverse respiratory effects of taking Ambien while sick. TMZ reports:
The New York Medical Examiner’s office tells TMZ it will take anywhere between ten days and two weeks to obtain test results. As TMZ first reported, the death appears to have been accidental.”
Hollywood is filled with self-important assholes with tidal wave size sense of entitlements, but Heath Ledger seemed okay. He was never on this site for anything ridiculously stupid and he obviously had a genuine need to make art, not a magazine cover. This is supported by the many celebrities that have come forward to express their shock and grief over his death in less than a day. Like Lindsay Lohan, who was seen crying and visibly shaken after she heard the news. She looked really sad and believable. I think a good idea from now on would be that whenever she makes a movie, they should erase her memory and just as her big scene starts the director should yell, “Heath Ledger just died!”. That maybe kinda extreme, but it has to be better than the alternative.
Jack Nicholson‘s reaction to the news of Heath’s death? “I warned him.” It’s unclear what he warned Ledger about, and I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but I’m guessing it didn’t have anything to do with warning labels:
