Ashlee Simpson is a Hypocrite

She’s had it with Hollywood’s twisted view of feminine beauty. Her goal: to get women to appreciate their diverse shapes and sizes. Along with a group of teens, Simpson send the kind of messages we all want to hear.

This is a direct quote from the July 2006 issue of Marie Claire magazine in which the “new and improved” Ashlee Simpson appears on the cover. The magazine rambles on for a while about how she is a true original, bold, quirky and blah, blah, blah. The real money shot doesn’t come until later when Ashlee Simpson actually says:

Everyone is made differently, and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident.”

You hear that all you 14 year old girls out there? This vapid, insecure girl wants you to know that all you need to do to be able to love that girl in the mirror is spend thousands of dollars to dye your hair like your sister’s, get collagen injections in your lips, a nose job and starve yourself. I’d rather look in the mirror and say “Candyman” three times than give Ashlee Simpson credit for anything.
