Destiny 2’s First Official Image Released by Bungie

Bungie has released the first official image from Destiny 2, confirming that the follow-up to its hugely successful sci-fi FPS is on its way.

Bungie made the reveal on the official Destiny Twitter account, and though there’s little to say about the image, it’s been enough to get fans of the original game excited. Take a look at the image below:

Last week a leaked poster for the game was circulated online, showing three helmet-less Guardians and a release date of September 8, 2017. That this image has appeared so soon after the poster’s reveal has more or less confirmed its authenticity, with a beta also reportedly on its way in June, with PS4 owners getting first access.

Not much is known about Destiny 2 at the time of this writing, though Bungie has stated that it is looking to up the ante this time around and deliver a more well-rounded experienced than the flawed vanilla version of its predecessor. Destiny received mixed reviews at the time of its release, though following expansions such as The Taken King and Rise of Iron it eventually became a great, albeit flawed, FPS.

Age of Triumph, the final update for Destiny, will launch on March 28. It will mark the last piece of DLC Bungie issues for the original game, with the developer then setting its sights firmly on its sequel.
